What's in a Name?

June takes its name from the Roman goddess Junno, the goddess of marriage and therefore has always been looked upon as the best month in which to marry. Anglo-Saxons called June Sera monath, meaning "dry month".

June's Child

Who comes with summer to this earth,
And owes to June her hour of birth.
With ring of Agate on her hand
Can health, wealth and long life command
